AddPrinter Error 1930
Posted by admin admin on 22 November 2006 06:17 PM
Problem:
I'm getting an AddPrinter error 1930 when trying to install Win2PDF.
Solution:
If you download and install the latest version of Win2PDF, it should resolve this problem.
If you need to use a previous version of Win2PDF, the full text of the error is The printer driver is not compatible with a policy enabled on your computer that blocks NT 4.0 drivers.  There is a Windows XP policy that is blocking Win2PDF from installing.  You need to change the Windows XP policy to allow Windows NT 4.0 drivers.  This is configurable in the "Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Local Security Policy".
If this error is occurring on Windows .NET Server, it is caused by a new feature called "Kernel Mode Driver Blocking" that is enabled by default. This prevents the Win2PDF driver from loading. If you disable this feature, it should allow Win2PDF to install. You can find information on enabling this feature by searching for "Kernel Mode Driver Blocking" in the Windows .NET Server Help.
