Check that XPS Document Writer is enabled on Windows 11
Posted by Craig Lebakken on 03 February 2016 02:35 PM

Win2PDF uses a component of the operating system named "Microsoft XPS Document Writer".  If the Microsoft XPS Document Writer is not enabled or missing, it will cause problems with the Win2PDF installation.  Make sure it is enabled by doing the following:

1.  Press the "Window+R" keys simultaneously to bring up the Run program prompt

2.  When you see the Run program prompt, type in "optionalfeatures"

3.  Scroll to "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" and check this box.

4.  Click OK

Now, try re-installing Win2PDF again.

Print to Microsoft XPS refused to print. Your instructions were to delete the XPS printer from Control Panel and then follow directions to add new XPS printer. Last instruction said to load file from "?" location. Except the problem is NO WHERE DID IT SAY IT DOWNLOADED A FILE OR WHERE TO GET IT!!

The Microsoft XPS Document Writer is included in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. You don't need to download anything because it's already installed with Windows.
