Why can't I use an American Express card when the currency is not USD?

Question: Why is the American Express card type not available for Euro, Canada dollars, UK pounds, or Australia dollars? Answer: American Express recently added additional requirements to their processing rules for non USD currencies, and our bank doesn't support the new requirements. Â You can still use AMEX for the USD currency.
