PDF files can't be searched in Adobe Reader
Posted by admin admin on 22 November 2006 09:45 PM
Problem:
PDF files created when the "Win2PDF Font Helper" is installed can't be searched in Adobe Reader.

Solution:
If you download and install the "Win2PDF Admin Utility", you can enable an option that will allow PDF files to be searchable in Adobe Reader 7.0. You can download the "Win2PDF Admin Utility" from the download section of the Win2PDF support web site:

http://helpdesk.win2pdf.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/187/15/win2pdf-admin-utility-download

Once installed, you can click on the "Troubleshooting" tab and uncheck the option labelled "Convert TrueType Fonts". This will embed the fonts in a way that is searchable by Adobe Reader. This troubleshooting option is only available in Win2PDF 3.20 and above.
