"PDF Options" missing from Windows Vista IE7 file save dialog
Posted by Craig Lebakken on 02 March 2007 01:32 AM
Problem:
When creating a PDF file from Internet Explorer 7 on Windows Vista, the Win2PDF file save dialog does not have a "PDF Options" button at the bottom of the file save dialog.

Solution:
When Internet Explorer 7 is running in protected mode, it does not allow applications such as Win2PDF to customize the file save window. This prevents Win2PDF from adding the "PDF Options..." button at the bottom of the file save window.

The only work-around is to turn off Internet Explorer 7 protected mode. To turn off protected mode, open the "Internet Options" dialog from the "Tools" menu, click the "Security" tab, and uncheck the option labelled "Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer)". After restarting Internet Explorer with protected mode disabled, you will see the "PDF Options..." button at the bottom of the Win2PDF file save window.
